Mobile Archiving Service Available
If you'd prefer your tapes not to leave your premises, I can bring the equipment to you (excluding 1-inch Type C transfers).
My van is fully equipped to establish an onsite digitisation workflow, allowing archive transfers to be completed where your collection is stored. This provides additional peace of mind for sensitive, irreplaceable or high-value material.
Important Information About Legacy Tape Media
While every effort is made to recover footage safely, successful playback cannot be guaranteed.
Older tapes—particularly those stored for 30 years or more, or in unsuitable environments such as garages, sheds, humid locations or tropical climates—may suffer from Sticky Shed Syndrome, a deterioration of the tape binder that can prevent normal playback.
Where appropriate, tapes may require controlled baking and stabilisation before transfer.
In some cases, age-related deterioration, physical damage or poor storage conditions may be irreversible, and footage may not be recoverable.⸻
Preserve. Organise. Future-proof.
Recent projects have included the digitisation and curation of photographic archive material for the Kylie documentary. Working with historically significant and often irreplaceable imagery requires not only technical expertise, but also careful handling, discretion and trust—qualities I bring to every archiving project, whether it's a major production, corporate collection or treasured family archive.
As a freelance cinematographer with over 40 years of broadcast-quality storytelling—including a significant tenure at the Nine Network—and founder of Mira Image Location Camera Services, I've captured historic interviews, news events, documentaries and creative productions across Australia and beyond.
My archiving practice brings this same attention to detail to your own collection—transforming a shoebox of prints, transparencies or film reels into a fully curated, searchable and future-proof digital archive.

While moving pictures are the core of my creative business, there's a refreshing shift that comes with leaving the van behind, slinging a mirrorless camera over my shoulder, and wandering with no fixed direction. Whether it's exploring city laneways, soaking in the textures of country landscapes, or simply people-watching in quiet corners or bustling squares, each setting offers a unique moment to capture.
Street photography has been a longstanding passion of mine. Some of the images in this collection date back to my early days and were originally shot on film—later scanned, an analog nod to the roots of my visual storytelling and the imperfect beauty that continues to shape my creative lens.
